SOLEDAD SILVA
Colombian artist whose work represents a constant meditation on the human condition. This aesthetic exercise has been carried out through the use of diverse media, such as watercolour, oil and experimental engraving, evincing that the richness of languages and plastic resources are a constant in her work.
Among the themes, her human figures stand out, mostly women, who are always reflective, with nostalgic gestures, where line and verticality suggest tension and lightness simultaneously.
On the other hand, she uses the architectural landscape to propose solutions about existentialist inquisitivenesses; loneliness, the passage of time, memory and the density of silence are presented by Silva through geometric compositions and sets of planes where there is a break with the traditional perspective: the artist gives expression to the geometry of urban architecture.
She has also explored the natural landscape, subtracting formal elements until reaching a rich textured chromatic synthesis, where it is evident that matter is a means to delve into the spiritual.
